Responsibilities

• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on welds and materials used in nuclear submarine construction and maintenance.
• Conduct fabrication and installation verification inspections.
• Apply approved NDT techniques and evaluate the physical condition of systems to verify material is built according to plan and standards.
• Review and interpret drawings, technical specifications, and procedural requirements related to nuclear systems.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED OR 2 plus years of related technical experience.
• 1+ years of experience in construction, manufacturing, quality assurance, or repair work.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Ability to grind joints and clear indications as needed throughout the inspection process.
• Strong PC skills including proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.
• Personal integrity and a commitment to uphold high standards of nuclear work.
• Must be able to successfully pass a Jaeger color vision eye examination.
• Must be able to obtain a non-destructive test (NDT) inspection certification.
• Willingness to learn unfamiliar skills based on departmental needs.
• Must be available to work all shifts, weekends, and extended hours as business needs dictate.
• Ability to maintain certifications through periodic audits and testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of War.

Additional Information

• This position is located at the Rhoads Industrial facility in Philadelphia, PA.
• Additional travel to other EB sites may be required based on business needs.
