Responsibilities
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on welds and materials used in nuclear submarine construction and maintenance.
- Conduct fabrication and installation verification inspections.
- Apply approved NDT techniques and evaluate the physical condition of systems to verify material is built according to plan and standards.
- Review and interpret drawings, technical specifications, and procedural requirements related to nuclear systems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED OR 2 plus years of related technical experience.
- 1+ years of experience in construction, manufacturing, quality assurance, or repair work.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Ability to grind joints and clear indications as needed throughout the inspection process.
- Strong PC skills including proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.
- Personal integrity and a commitment to uphold high standards of nuclear work.
- Must be able to successfully pass a Jaeger color vision eye examination.
- Must be able to obtain a non-destructive test (NDT) inspection certification.
- Willingness to learn unfamiliar skills based on departmental needs.
- Must be available to work all shifts, weekends, and extended hours as business needs dictate.
- Ability to maintain certifications through periodic audits and testing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of War.

- This position is located at the Rhoads Industrial facility in Philadelphia, PA.
- Additional travel to other EB sites may be required based on business needs.
