Overview
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is seeking candidates for the Induction Equipment Repair Maintainer First Class position, responsible for maintenance and repair of electrical induction apparatus. Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair on all rotating and static electrical induction apparatus.
- Conduct visual electrical and mechanical inspections and tests of D.C. induction components.
- Clean, dry, retest, and re-insulate induction motors as required.
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and test components such as armatures and field coils.
- Read and interpret schematics, tables, charts, manuals, and other technical documents.
- Direct activities of lower classifications and complete repair work orders.
- Operate standard shop equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
- Comply with safety and security policies and report any hazards.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent with vocational training in electrical/mechanical courses.
- Minimum of one year experience in the repair of DC Current Motors Armatures.
- Ability to work from drawings for electrical/mechanical circuits and equipment.
- Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license or equivalent.
- Understanding of electrical and basic electronic theory and practices.
