Overview
Hull's is seeking a diesel mechanic responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repairs of company vehicles to ensure safe operation of the fleet.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and ensure required inspections of company vehicles are performed and meet the desired standard.
- Perform routine maintenance/repairs on company vehicles crucial to the safe operation of the fleet.
- Schedule and ensure that all safety related repairs and driver requested repairs are performed daily.
- Protect the health and welfare of all employees by enforcing best fleet safety practices.
- Keep tools, equipment and shop area clean and organized and in good working condition.
- Complete and submit company forms; work orders, purchased parts/equipment, fleet records, etc.
- Must be willing to work beyond normal work hours, must be available for night-time/weekend work.
- Understand and comply with all DOT regulations and applicable laws.
- Comply with on-going and random drug testing/physicals as required by the Company.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 3 years in the mechanic trade; to include small and large vehicles and equipment.
- ASE certification a plus.
- Must have own tools (company to purchase specialty tools).
- Commercial Driver License with clean driving record preferred.
- Must be able to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles.
- Work requires heavy lifting, manual labor.
