Overview

Join our team as a Park Mechanic, where you'll have the opportunity to work on thrilling rides and attractions at Six Flags. This full-time, hourly position offers a chance to utilize your mechanical skills in a fun and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rides and attractions, notifying management of any hazards.
• Perform ride inspection and maintenance programs according to standards.
• Maintain, erect, repair, and troubleshoot theme park rides and attractions.
• Diagnose malfunctioning hydraulic, pneumatic, and gearbox drive systems.
• Repair or replace faulty mechanical components such as lift chains and gear boxes.
• Visually inspect machines to locate causes of malfunctions.
• Remove or replace worn or defective parts using hand or power tools.
• Weld using various processes including ARC and Flux Core ARC welding.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Keep a daily duty log of maintenance work and records of preventative maintenance.
• Respond to work orders and conduct mechanical repairs as needed.
• Adhere to park policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of various mechanical systems and welding proficiency.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Professional interaction skills with other departments.
• Ability to troubleshoot in the presence of guests and co-workers.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs, bend, stand for long periods, climb, and work at heights up to 200 ft.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
• Ability to work outside in any weather conditions, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid Drivers’ License and clean DMV report.
• Employees must supply their own hand tools.

Additional Information

• Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Pay range is $30.12 - $40.16 per hour, with overtime paid at 1.5x standard rate.
