Overview
MasTec Utility Services is a subsidiary of MasTec, delivering critical infrastructure construction and engineering services for power delivery, gas, and water customers. The Mechanic I position involves the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles, supporting the Construction team.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and repair company equipment, such as pickup trucks, line trucks, trailers, mini excavators, backhoes, compressors, and generators.
- Perform road tests and operational checks of vehicles and equipment.
- Place orders for required parts, materials, and supplies.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports.
- Monitor prioritized projects, activities, and assignments.
- Maintain tools, supplies, and workstations in a clean and safe manner.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of vehicle and equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to do tune-ups, brake jobs (hydraulic), and basic wiring.
- Basic diesel and drive train experience.
- Ability to use cutting torch and basic welding skills.
- Knowledge of minor heavy equipment repairs.
- 1 or more years of experience preferred.
- DOT Certified Flagger preferred.
- CDL Class A license preferred.
