Overview

The H20 TIG Welding position at GE Aerospace involves performing various welding processes and maintaining equipment to produce aircraft engine hardware. The role requires proficiency in welding techniques and adherence to quality specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various weld processes (GTAW, Resistance) on a variety of metals.
  • Set up and maintain associated equipment and tools to produce parts to aircraft quality specifications.
  • Perform intermediate mathematical calculations and use precision measuring equipment.
  • Interpret weld and fabrication blueprints to determine required setups and operations.
  • Support plant machinery and manufacturing-related initiatives through various job duties.
  • Train others and maintain detailed job task documentation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience in precision weld-fabrication disciplines, or an Associate degree or Technical Certificate in a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the set-up and operation of TIG and MIG welding tools.
  • Experience in mechanical/weld/fabrication blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and dial calipers.
  • Demonstrated experience in fabrication-related disciplines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma fundamentals.
