Textron Systems is part of Textron, a multi-industry company that employs 35,000 individuals worldwide. The Sr. Welder/Fabricator role involves welding and fabricating components in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding of aluminum and other metal materials in all positions.
• Work from various positions including standing, sitting, lying, and kneeling.
• Climb on and over vehicles and up and down ladders.
• Conduct tack welding and operate jacks, porta-powers, and come-a-longs.
• Lift materials and tools, including loading and unloading parts.
• Crawl through craft or on top of structures as needed.
• Bend and twist body to access different compartments.
• Operate cranes and forklifts.
• Use power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain tidy work areas and follow safety and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers on product design and testing.
• Perform quality control and handle defective items according to procedures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated skills based on welding test results.
• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Ability to read and understand product schematics and assembly instructions.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technology.
• Good background in basic electrical principles.
• Basic understanding of hydraulic principles and hose assembly.
