Overview

The Welder position involves performing fitting and welding of steel, aluminum, and Invar 36 parts using MIG/TIG processes under direct supervision. The role requires reading blueprints, setting up welding machines, and maintaining a clean work environment while ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fitting and welding of steel, aluminum, and Invar 36 parts using MIG/TIG processes.
  • Set up welding machines based on job specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • MIG/TIG weld components based on blueprints and drawings.
  • Repair broken or damaged parts.
  • Fabricate and revise fixtures, jigs, gauges, and special tooling.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Follow safe manufacturing processes and wear mandatory safety eyewear.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with steel, aluminum, and/or Invar 36.
  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, and tape measures.
  • Must meet Export Control Compliance requirements; a 'U.S. Person' is required.
  • May be required to travel to other site locations during the workday.
  • May be required to work weekends to meet demands.
  • Must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to see, talk, hear, touch, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to frequently walk and stand for short periods.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 35 lbs; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Information

  • Candidates with a current or previous Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance are preferred.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant work experience and/or completion of a certificate program in welding is preferred.
