Overview
Welder II is responsible for handling complex welding tasks, interpreting blueprints and specifications, and producing high-quality welds with minimal supervision. The position requires a strong understanding of various welding techniques and materials.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on diverse materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and ductile iron.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
- Ensure all welds meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance of welding equipment and report any issues.
- Monitor welding processes to prevent defects and ensure safety.
- Assist in training and guiding Welder 1 employees.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in welding with various materials.
- High school diploma or GED required; advanced welding certification preferred.
- Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Strong ability to follow blueprints and technical instructions.
- Commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Must be willing to work occasional rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
