Job Description

Overview

The Welder position involves welding components using TIG and Laser processes, focusing on quality and safety. The role requires proficiency in working with various metals and understanding blueprints, while contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality welds using TIG and/or Laser processes.
  • Knowledge of metals and characteristics of different alloys.
  • Read and understand blueprints and welding callouts in designs.
  • Use various measuring methods and tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and scales.
  • Operate manual welding equipment and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch.
  • Conduct assessments to verify critical weld requirements are met.
  • Understand fixturing and use of tools to achieve proper fitment of parts prior to welding.
  • Proper use of all necessary safety protocols and personal protective equipment.
  • Communicate effectively to work in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Proficient in TIG welding thin gauge sheet steel and aluminum.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk, and occasionally required to sit or climb.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
