Overview
Mission Critical Group (MCG) is a provider of power solutions and services, focusing on delivering scalable infrastructure for mission-critical environments. The Metal Shop Technician will assist in the fabrication and assembly of custom Switchgear structures, ensuring adherence to client specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the handling of raw steel and copper.
- Operate metal shop machinery, including punch, brake, shear, and saws.
- Weld sheet metal goods and prepare them for coating.
- Assemble metalwork and handle sheet metal goods.
- Follow blueprint diagrams.
- Be proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct fabrication tasks, including saw cutting and drilling.
- Cross-train to support other sections of the company.
- Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years in general mechanical or metalworking or associated field.
- Experience in the use of hand tools and hand power tools.
- Valid driver's license for service-related positions.
- Satisfactory completion of additional background screening if applicable.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to follow verbal directions to meet the production schedule.
- Ability to use ruler, scale, tape measure, and calipers.
- Possess basic tools including gear wrenches, impact gun, torque wrenches, metrics, and standard sockets.
- High dedication to quality of results to avoid rework.
- Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
- Able to work with minimal direction and achieve objectives.
Additional Information
- Schedule: Wednesday – Saturday; 6AM- 4:30PM OR Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday; 6AM- 4:30PM.
- This is a FLSA non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis.
- Workweeks may exceed forty hours, including weekends or holidays.
- This role is based on the production floor and requires standing for extended periods.
