Overview
The Assembly Worker Structures - A&P - C130 position involves building and mating aircraft structures, requiring skills in sheet metal assembly and the ability to read blueprints. The role is based at Lockheed Martin, which emphasizes a culture of empowerment and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Perform minor reforming of parts to correct contour.
- Crimp, trim, and file parts to fit.
- Frame, skin, rivet, and attach fittings and installations for finished assembly.
- Drill and ream to specified tolerances, and mill rivets as required.
- Install incidental plumbing, electrical rigging, or other functional items as required.
- Install braces, brackets, platenuts, and clips for fastening or supporting installations.
- Disassemble and/or reassemble structure and installations.
- Fabricate structural items such as clips, angles, gussets, and patches.
Requirements
- Two years of aircraft sheet metal assembly experience or equivalent training.
- Ability to read and use aircraft detail and assembly blueprints.
- Completed Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Licenses from accredited aeronautical technical institutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use necessary jigs, fixtures, rivet upsetting, assembly equipment, and hand tools.
