Overview

The Welder/Fitter position requires strong skills in welding and fitting, with an emphasis on teamwork and the ability to read blueprints. The company is looking for a long-term employee who is willing to be trained in the necessary skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment
• Read and interpret shop drawings or engineered drawings
• Apply fit-up procedures effectively
• Understand and use weld symbols according to CWB procedures
• Fit small and large weldments using layout tools and fixtures
• Read and understand measuring instruments such as tape measures and levels
• Detect weld defects and identify non-conforming parts
• Operate and set up MIG welding equipment

Requirements

• Strong blue print reading skills
• Strong knowledge of fit-up procedures
• Strong knowledge of weld symbols and CWB procedures
• Ability to fit small and large weldments using layout tools
• Ability to read and understand measuring instruments
• Ability to detect weld defects
• Valid CWB tickets are an asset or willingness to earn them
