Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic role involves assembling, installing, and repairing equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Kinder Morgan is a large energy infrastructure company focused on providing safe and efficient energy transportation and storage services.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install equipment such as drive motors, conveyors, and pulley assemblies.
  • Align machines and equipment for proper operation.
  • Repair and lubricate material bulk handling machines and equipment to company/manufacture specifications.
  • Perform certified stick welding operations as needed.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on equipment and make adjustments.
  • Operate a variety of tools/equipment such as cutting torch, welder, forklift, aerial lifts, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Participate in and promote safety and environmental programs.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist coworkers and other departments on various jobs.
  • Diagnose problems and maintain a variety of bulk handling equipment.
  • Assist in the transportation and movement of mechanical equipment.
  • Assemble machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
  • Lubricate moving parts and operate repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience required.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally.
  • Must work schedule as assigned and overtime with little to no notice.
  • Regular work attendance is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required.
  • Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones.
  • Must be able to complete/pass DISA testing for entrance into refinery.
  • Respiratory fit testing is required.
  • Must possess heavy equipment operator’s certification for equipment being operated.
