Overview
Austin Industrial is a leading provider of self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Pipe Fabricator will lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment for various industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws and pipe threaders.
- Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems and supports following blueprints.
- Read and interpret blueprints and product specifications to determine required tools.
- Attach pipes to walls and structures using brackets, clamps, or welding equipment.
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
- Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
- Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
- Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment using tools.
- Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
- Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids.
- Remove and replace worn components.
- Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural weaknesses.
- Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
- Dip nonferrous piping materials in molten tin and lead for coating.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
- NCCER certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- TWIC Card.
