Overview

An Electrical Assembler combines technical expertise with personal work habits to build, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems with precision and quality. Success in this role depends on a mix of hard skills (technical abilities) and soft skills (workplace behaviors).

Responsibilities

  • Building complete electrical systems from schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Soldering and mounting components onto PCBs accurately.
  • Connecting wires, harnesses, and panels according to specifications to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Creating strong, reliable electrical connections.
  • Combining components into sub-assemblies for integration into larger systems.
  • Proficiency with tape measures, wire strippers, soldering irons, crimpers, and calibrated tools.
  • Using shop math for accurate sizing, spacing, and assembly.
  • Operating multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Wiring and installing switches, relays, and other control components.
  • Integrating electrical parts with mechanical systems.
  • Spotting small errors to prevent defects and ensure compliance with specs.
  • Identifying and resolving assembly or wiring issues quickly.
  • Clearly conveying instructions, concerns, or findings to team members.
  • Coordinating with engineers, QA, and other assemblers for smooth production.
  • Handling small components and tools precisely.
  • Following electrical codes and safety protocols to protect yourself and others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in electrical assembly or lithium-ion battery assembly is preferred.
