Overview

Emerson is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Machinist in Stafford, Texas, who has a strong understanding of machine tools and manufacturing processes. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate fixtures, jigs, brackets, and other parts, including welding, grinding, tapping, forming, deburring, and inspection for conformance to requirements.
• Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machines as required to ensure quality or production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Set up and operate machine tools to achieve desired tolerances and finishes.
• Measure and inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects.
• Assist with training others on equipment when necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in operating machine tools, mills, grinders, and other precision equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of machining techniques and tooling.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English at a level necessary to perform essential job duties.
