Overview

Dover Precision Components is part of Dover Corporation's Pumps and Process solutions segment, delivering performance-critical solutions across various markets. The 2nd Shift Manual Machinist will set up and operate manual machines, preferably lathe machines, to perform machining operations.

Responsibilities

• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining to be done.
• Identify, select, and install proper tooling for operations.
• Calculate proper feeds and speeds for various materials.
• Understand capabilities of tooling and machinery.
• Perform necessary quality inspections according to applicable quality systems.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce setup times and improve productivity.
• Set up measuring equipment and check calibration while measuring.

Requirements

• Prior experience with precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .001 inches.

Additional Information

• Work schedule is 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels.
