Overview
The CNC Machine Operator at Jetstream of Houston is responsible for operating various machines to produce parts according to specified tolerances and quality standards. The company, a subsidiary of Federal Signal, is recognized as a top workplace and values teamwork and employee appreciation.
Responsibilities
- Review work orders and operate machines to produce specified quantities to defined tolerances.
- Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
- Plan machine setups and operate machines through production runs.
- Deburr parts as needed.
- Monitor machine functions to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Perform first piece inspections and adjust machines as necessary.
- Complete inspection reports and document critical quality information.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines.
- Communicate with managers and other personnel to resolve quality issues.
- Act as a subject matter expert and train co-workers.
- Document outstanding issues for smooth shift transitions.
- Cross train in other areas of Operations as needed.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with 5S initiatives.
- Follow all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certificate in Machining Technologies or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret Blueprints/Technical Drawings.
- Ability to perform various machining operations according to part specifications.
