Overview
The Electrical Assembler III position at Marvin Engineering Co. involves assembling complex electrical and electromechanical assemblies for military aerospace and vehicles. The company is a leading defense contractor with over 60 years of experience in supporting the Department of Defense and global allies.
Responsibilities
- Assemble complex electrical assemblies, cable harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies according to engineering drawings and aerospace standards.
- Perform precision wire routing, crimping, soldering, harness fabrication, and cable assembly.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, bills of material, assembly travelers, wiring diagrams, and process specifications.
- Conduct soldering and inspection activities in compliance with IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 requirements.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
- Conduct in-process inspections and verify product conformity to quality standards.
- Identify, document, and escalate nonconforming material or process deviations.
- Support/Lead root cause and corrective action activities related to quality or production issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and traceability documentation.
- Support/Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and error-proofing initiatives.
- Operate and support automated or semi-automated assembly equipment.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering with process validation and tooling improvements.
- Train and mentor Electrical Assemblers Level I and II.
- Maintain compliance with ESD, FOD, safety, and clean manufacturing requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Production leadership.
Requirements
- 2-Yr Technical degree.
- 5-7 years of experience in electrical assembly.
- IPC-610 Certification: The Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
- IPC-620 Certification: Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies or equivalent.
- J-STD-001 Certification: Soldered Electrical & Electronic Assemblies.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Ability to perform moderate, demanding, physical and repetitious work.
- Must be able to speak/read/write English.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
