Overview

Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM specializing in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. The Assembler III role involves assembling and testing complex aerospace assemblies while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and mentoring less experienced assemblers.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex mechanical and electromechanical products, subassemblies, and finished units using engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform high-complexity electro/mechanical assembly with close tolerances and precision fits.
• Install, align, adjust, and fit components using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Perform preset calibration, in-process inspections, functional testing, and final product testing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex assembly and test issues and determine corrective actions.
• Complete Quality Assurance records and inspection documentation accurately.
• Recommend improvements to work instructions, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Train, mentor, and coach new assemblers while promoting teamwork.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of mechanical assembly experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or precision manufacturing.
• Advanced electro/mechanical assembly techniques.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with calibration and functional testing.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and mentor others.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
