Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The Machining Tech II - 2nd Shift position in Fullerton, CA involves operating and maintaining production machines while adhering to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operates various standard and specialized machines to precision tolerances after set-up by others.
• Performs minor adjustments and tool changes.
• Operates one or more machines according to crew size called out on work order.
• Loads parts/material into bins, hoppers, and feeders; removes finished parts; and operates switches, pedals, and levers.
• Observes operations for malfunction or improper processing; corrects or reports them as needed.
• Performs related tasks such as assembling, drilling, deburring, sorting, counting, etching, stamping, and recording parts processed.
• Checks multiple operations on a part using various gauges.
• Reads micrometers, indicators, plug gauges, and thread gauges.
• Submits 'first article' to print.
• Assists in the training of machine operators.
• Keeps work area clean, safe, and orderly.

Requirements

• Willing to learn or have a working knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes.
• One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior machining experience.
• Able to read/interpret part drawings and use quality tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Understand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
