Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic and Industrial Electrician positions are crucial roles at our Chicago Bakery plant, focusing on ensuring the efficient operation of processing and packaging equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards. Both positions require technical expertise and the ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of high-speed processing and packaging equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and execute root-cause diagnostics.
- Minimize line downtime to meet critical production needs.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and optimize production line performance.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- At least 2–4 years of hands-on manufacturing experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or completion of an approved Apprenticeship/Training Program.
- Ability to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision.
- Working proficiency across pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, basic machining, hand tools, welding, and foundational electrical systems.
- Proven industrial electrical experience working with 480V systems.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC & VFD systems.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret electrical blueprints and technical schematics.
Additional Information
- Must be available to work 2nd or 3rd shift schedules.
- On-site at our Chicago Bakery plant.
