Overview
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician at Southwest Airlines is responsible for inspecting and repairing aircraft to ensure they are ready for flight. This role involves working outdoors on the ramp during overnight hours and requires hands-on skills in aircraft maintenance. Responsibilities
- Inspect and repair aircraft systems to ensure readiness for flight.
- Perform checks, dismantling, overhauling, repairing, fabricating, assembling, welding, and painting of aircraft components.
- Work cooperatively with Technical Operations and Airport Teams.
- Follow maintenance procedures and comply with regulations.
- Complete documentation of work performed.
- Handle emergencies and hazardous situations as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of Aircraft Maintenance Experience, including 1 year of Heavy Jet Aircraft Maintenance Experience.
- Must meet recency of experience requirements of CFR 65.83.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
- Valid Federal A&P Certificates required.
