Overview

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking a Level II UT NDT Technician for full-time work in the Chicago, IL area, offering competitive wages and benefits. The position requires expertise in non-destructive testing techniques and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate equipment.
• Conduct tests with appropriate NDT technique(s).
• Interpret, evaluate and document results.
• Direct the work of trainees and Level I personnel.
• Familiarize with codes, standards and contractual documents.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Obtain and analyze information skillfully.
• Edit and present numerical data effectively.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A for UT, RT, MT or PT.
• Prior certification as an NDE Level II with one year experience or as an NDE Level I technician with adequate field experience.
• Industrial Radiographers Certification Card preferred.
• Illinois state card required.
• Rope access certification is preferred.
• Completion of a forty hour Radiation Safety Course preferred.

• Field duties require outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
• Must be physically fit and able to carry 50 lbs frequently.
• May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
