Overview
The Technician position involves completing maintenance and repair tasks for Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges, while also mentoring and training other personnel. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges.
- Mentor, train, and assign tasks to other personnel in the absence of Senior Technicians or Supervisors.
- Perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, including clearing system jams and conducting shift inspections.
- Diagnose equipment failures under the guidance of senior personnel.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, basic schematics, and instructions from supervisors or managers.
- Work in tight and high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Complete forms related to work assignments according to established procedures.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing.
- Complete all safety training as assigned by the company.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum 2 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience.
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Previous work experience in an Airport environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of industrial concepts, practices, and procedures.
- HVAC, welding/brazing, and plumbing knowledge and skills are preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience.
- 3+ years of industrial mechanical and/or electrical background.
- Minimum 1 year experience with PLC logic and/or Industrial HVAC certification.
- Advanced computer skills.
Additional Information
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
- Must comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
