Overview

Beam Living is a multi-family residential property management company in New York City, focused on creating fulfilling places to work, live, and grow. They are seeking a Masonry Mechanic to provide excellent customer service and support the maintenance of their properties.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all stages of repair/rebuild of ceiling, wall, and floors using proper tools and materials including plaster, tile, cement, marble, and granite.
• Plaster and tape ceilings and walls.
• Perform apartment demo and restoration work, including cement, tile, sheetrock, and light framing.
• Conduct exterior sidewalk repairs and patches.
• Answer resident questions and represent the property culture.
• Additional duties may be assigned by your Supervisor.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of trades or construction experience in similar work required.
• Trade school graduation or equivalent education is a plus.
• Some computer skills necessary to manage the work order system.
• Able to multi-task under high pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• A strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
• A belief that doing the right thing is the only option, no matter how difficult it might be.
• A willingness to respond to emergency situations no matter the time of day.
• A valid Driver's License must be enrolled in the New York State License Event Notification Service (LENS) program.
• Ability to use tablet-based work order program to complete assigned work orders.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of Microsoft Outlook.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs.).

• Worksite Status: Onsite
• Hourly Rate: $27.71
• Weekends or overtime required on occasion.
• Overtime is available and required in emergency situations.
