SITU Fabrication

Overview

SITU Fabrication is a leading architectural fabrication company located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard seeking a mid-level Fabricator to join their team. This position will report directly to the Director of Production and Lead Fabricators and work with Project Managers to successfully complete projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate all standard woodshop machinery.
• Complete projects using a combination of CNC fabrication and handcrafted work.
• Work with multiple materials including steel, aluminum, plastics, and composites.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional experience in a woodshop or fabrication environment.
• Technical excellence in machinery operation and assembly skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to implement efficient work methods and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to read architectural drawings; proficiency in Rhino 3D is a plus.
• Excellent organization and tidy work habits.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on teams.
• Must speak English (ESOL acceptable).
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge, skills, experience, or training certification.

Additional Information

• On-site installation experience and skills are a plus.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs to a height of 3-4 feet.
• Ability to work continuously for 2-3 hours standing up.
• Work in a fabrication shop environment.
• Maintain a high level of communication as a team member.
