The Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is a leading institution in aviation maintenance education, dedicated to training skilled technicians. The Tool Room Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and effective learning environment by managing tools and equipment for students and faculty.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently issue, track, inspect, and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Implement and oversee safety programs, tool inspections, and maintenance.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on lost or damaged tools.
- Assemble and issue tools and materials required for class projects.
- Generate a 'Lost Tool Report' for unreturned tools.
- Maintain a tool inspection and safety program.
- Control broken tools and report them to the Director of Education.
- Maintain an inspection and calibration program for precision measuring devices.
- Perform routine maintenance and required calibration on training equipment.
- Verify the availability of tools and training equipment for class projects.
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing tools and materials.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Participate in facility and equipment maintenance activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- At least three years in a position requiring use of hand tools and equipment similar to that found in an aircraft repair shop.
- Basic computer skills, including keyboarding, e-mail, word processor, and spreadsheets.
- Exhibits a positive, team-oriented attitude and flexibility to work outside of scheduled hours.
