Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of machine tools to perform specific operations independently.
• Make minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine tool.
• Grind own cutting tools and drills.
• Check parts using specified gauges or fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained.
• Report improper machine function or parts not held to proper dimensions.
• Assist and train others of lesser skill and/or experience.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Follow all Safety and Environmental Procedures.

Requirements

• Must have a High School education or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of specific and related experience.
• Skill level in excess of Machinist.
• Journeyman Certificate is a plus.
• Complete knowledge of temperature changes caused by machine operations and proper coolants.
• Prior machinist experience as a Machine Operator.
• Ability to use machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of shop practice and procedure including machinability of metals.

Additional Information

• This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
