Overview
The Switchboard Wireman will perform wiring services in control circuits, control panels, and equipment in Transmission Substations throughout Georgia. This role is part of a traveling Switchboard Wiring Department and requires proficiency in working with AC/DC control circuits and the ability to travel statewide for work.
Responsibilities
- Perform wiring services in control circuits, control panels, and equipment in Transmission Substations.
- Pull cables and terminate both AC/DC control circuits.
- Build control panels and function-test them.
- De-energize control panels in various AC/DC control circuits.
- Work in both new and existing transmission substations.
- Adhere to safety requirements and demonstrate Safety Excellence behaviors.
- Respond to call-out overtime work and scheduled overtime.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Passing of GPC Switchboard Wiring Training Program.
- Knowledge of AC or DC control circuits including installation work.
- Good communication skills.
- Dependable and self-motivated.
- Ability to work at heights of 20 feet.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Pass a pre-employment CAST test.
Additional Information
- Location: Statewide, reporting location is Forest Park, GA.
- Works four ten-hour days with overnight and out-of-town stays.
- Travel expenses, hotel expenses, and meals are the responsibility of the Switchboard Wireman.
