Overview

The Switchboard Wireman will perform wiring services in control circuits, control panels, and equipment in Transmission Substations throughout Georgia. This role is part of a traveling Switchboard Wiring Department and requires proficiency in working with AC/DC control circuits and the ability to travel statewide for work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wiring services in control circuits, control panels, and equipment in Transmission Substations.
  • Pull cables and terminate both AC/DC control circuits.
  • Build control panels and function-test them.
  • De-energize control panels in various AC/DC control circuits.
  • Work in both new and existing transmission substations.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and demonstrate Safety Excellence behaviors.
  • Respond to call-out overtime work and scheduled overtime.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Passing of GPC Switchboard Wiring Training Program.
  • Knowledge of AC or DC control circuits including installation work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work at heights of 20 feet.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Pass a pre-employment CAST test.

Additional Information

  • Location: Statewide, reporting location is Forest Park, GA.
  • Works four ten-hour days with overnight and out-of-town stays.
  • Travel expenses, hotel expenses, and meals are the responsibility of the Switchboard Wireman.
