Overview

LECO is a family-owned company with over 80 years of experience in developing and producing laboratory instruments. The Field Service Engineer role involves working remotely to provide maintenance, repairs, and training on analytical and metallographic instrumentation in the Southeastern US.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive/general maintenance, breakdown repair, troubleshooting and corrective actions to analytical and metallographic instrumentation.
  • Perform new instrumentation installations as well as updates and upgrade kit installations.
  • Provide training on theory, operation, software, and good maintenance practices.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with LECO’s ISO accreditation.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Adhere to customer’s site and safety requirements while conducting yourself in a professional manner.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Attend instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a period of 3-5 months.
  • Complete field service training with experienced field service engineers throughout the country.
  • Attend annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan.
  • Ability to travel daily with up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday – Friday).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass a background check and substance abuse screenings.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction.
  • Should have a personal credit card, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Strong mechanical skills, and previous experience with AC and DC electronics, or the ability to learn.
  • Chemistry or military background is advantageous, but not required.
  • Education: Two Year Technical Degree or Trade School, prior military with training in a technical field, or equivalent work experience or training in a technical field.
