Overview

Ecovyst is a leading provider of sulfur solutions with over 130 years of history, specializing in sulfuric acid and its derivatives. The Pipefitter/Welder role in Baton Rouge, LA involves welding and pipefitting tasks in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal parts together using stick rod and heli-arc welding techniques.
• Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
• Prepare material for welding.
• Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts.
• Install modifications to equipment or structures.
• Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Operate and utilize assistive devices such as man-lifts and forklifts.
• Perform pipefitting tasks.
• Draw isometric diagrams and develop bills of material for piping system construction.
• Draw and read blueprints/isometrics.
• Fabricate and install piping systems.
• Dismantle/remove and install bolted connections.

Requirements

• 5 years of welding experience in an industrial field in a plant setting.
• Certified Welding Inspection (CWI) or other welding certifications are desired.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to qualify in all required methods in the 6G position.
• Valid and current Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) is required.
