Overview

Oldcastle, a CRH company, is a leading provider of innovative outdoor living products and utility infrastructure solutions. Avon Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Welder to lead a team in the custom manufacturing of steel molds for precast concrete plants.

Responsibilities

• Embody a strong safety culture by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
• Learn every process in the shop and make decisions to optimize production flow.
• Fabricate heavy gauge materials and components.
• Fit, set, and assemble fabricated structures.
• Cut and weld using various processes, primarily MIG welding.
• Inspect and test welds.
• Enforce shop housekeeping procedures for safe work areas.
• Track production and maintenance, alerting management for re-stock needs.
• Attend daily production meetings.
• Participate in blueprint reviews with foreman and drafters.
• Oversee team members' quality and control.
• Mentor and develop junior welders as needed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in fabricating structural steel and plate.
• Experience leading a team in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Capable of fabricating from blueprints.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to use measuring instruments and calculate angles.
• Experience with overhead crane use, including safety and rigging.
• Experience operating various metalworking machinery.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and crouch.
