Overview
The CWC Bricklayer position at the Department of Transportation (DOT) involves working as part of a crew to enhance and maintain the City of New York's infrastructure. The role requires specific qualifications and offers opportunities for individuals with disabilities through the 55-a Program.
Responsibilities
- Laying brick and masonry on given structures.
- Performing fireproofing, block arching, and terra cotta cutting.
- Constructing brick masonry for sewers and manholes.
- Laying cobblestone, setting granite curb, and laying pavers.
- Reading and following plans and specifications.
- Keeping jobs and other records.
- May supervise assigned personnel.
- May be assigned additional duties in line with their title.
Requirements
- Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as a Bricklayer, or at least three years of experience and sufficient bricklayer apprentice experience or training.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a valid driver's license in the state of New York.
- Candidates must be serving permanently in the title or reachable on the civil service list, Exam # 0155, or have filed and be reachable on Exam # 4518 or 4020.
