Overview

Join the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) as a Plumber III and contribute to creating a positive impact in the lives of Texans. This role involves advanced installation, maintenance, and repair work of plumbing systems at the San Angelo State Supported Living Center.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced-level plumbing work including installation and repair of plumbing systems.
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot plumbing equipment.
  • Coordinate plumbing repairs performed by others and advise on plumbing issues.
  • Participate in planning long-range plumbing maintenance programs.
  • Process paperwork related to work orders and material requisitions.
  • Train, coordinate, and lead the work of others in plumbing projects.
  • Maintain and oversee records related to plumbing work.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on plumbing equipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to establish work schedules.
  • Maintain inventory of shop equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance and facility team members.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and eligible driving record.
  • Licensed as a plumber by the State of Texas.
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in plumbing.
  • Experience in a maintenance program in a residential setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes and safety regulations.
  • Advanced skill in the use of plumbing tools.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics.

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $5,370.75 - $6,779.16.
  • Work location at 11640 US HWY 87 N, Carlsbad, TX.
  • May require on-call status and flexibility in work hours.
