Overview
Join the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) as a Plumber III and contribute to creating a positive impact in the lives of Texans. This role involves advanced installation, maintenance, and repair work of plumbing systems at the San Angelo State Supported Living Center.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced-level plumbing work including installation and repair of plumbing systems.
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot plumbing equipment.
- Coordinate plumbing repairs performed by others and advise on plumbing issues.
- Participate in planning long-range plumbing maintenance programs.
- Process paperwork related to work orders and material requisitions.
- Train, coordinate, and lead the work of others in plumbing projects.
- Maintain and oversee records related to plumbing work.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on plumbing equipment.
- Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to establish work schedules.
- Maintain inventory of shop equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Communicate effectively with maintenance and facility team members.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and eligible driving record.
- Licensed as a plumber by the State of Texas.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in plumbing.
- Experience in a maintenance program in a residential setting preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Advanced skill in the use of plumbing tools.
- Ability to interpret drawings and schematics.
