Overview

The Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment at Walmart is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This role requires a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance within a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
• Inspect, clean, and test equipment to diagnose issues and determine replacement needs to minimize future repairs.
• Utilize multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to complete major and minor repairs.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy machinery, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts ordering, and documentation to ensure accurate tracking and cost control.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations to support critical business needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while coordinating with contractors.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area, or 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
