Overview

Cleveland Carter Enterprises, Inc. (CCE) is a leading underground utilities construction company specializing in 24/7 emergency sewer and water repair, seeking a dependable and experienced Pipelayer to join their team in Forest Park, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and assemble underground sewer, water, and storm drainage pipe systems according to project specifications.
  • Read blueprints, construction plans, and utility layouts to determine proper installation methods.
  • Establish proper line and grade and verify pipe elevations throughout installation.
  • Inspect excavation areas to identify existing utilities, obstructions, and potential hazards.
  • Install pipe while maintaining proper alignment, grade, and joint integrity.
  • Cut pipe using appropriate hand and power tools, including saws, pipe cutters, torches, and specialty cutting equipment.
  • Assemble and install PVC, ductile iron, steel, copper, and other utility piping materials.
  • Connect piping using approved couplings, Fernco fittings, cement, gaskets, and other installation methods.
  • Install restraints, clamps, hangers, and other pipe support systems as required.
  • Conduct pressure testing and leak testing on water utility installations when required.
  • Assist equipment operators with trench operations, pipe placement, and material handling.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout each project.
  • Follow all OSHA trench safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in underground sewer, water, or utility construction.
  • Working knowledge of utility installation practices, trench safety, and construction materials.
  • Ability to read construction plans and establish line and grade preferred.
  • Basic math, reading, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds (team lift required for heavier materials).
  • Full range of physical motion including bending, kneeling, climbing, digging, and working in trenches.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, wind, and cold.
  • Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, loud noise, dust, vibration, and uneven terrain.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must possess a smartphone and be comfortable using company technology and communication platforms.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays as project needs require.
