Overview
The Field Superintendent - Piping position at Sundt involves managing day-to-day construction activities, supervising craft employees and subcontractors, and ensuring safety, production goals, quality control, and cost control. This role offers a progression of skill and experience through three steps, catering to various levels of expertise.
Responsibilities
- Assists in or conducts review of shop drawings and design conflicts along with RFI review and implementation.
- Manages Quality Control and Safety responsibilities as well as subcontractor coordination and oversight.
- Ensures the quality management plan is followed and verifies the quality of work being installed meets expectations.
- Assists in or manages the selection of equipment, construction methods, and sequencing of operations.
- Conducts subcontractor meetings.
- Manages the implementation of LEAN planning.
- Conducts risk management analysis daily with project leaders.
- Emphasizes a culture of safety and ensures the safety plan is executed.
- Enforces the project management plan to ensure field activities are consistent with plans and procedures.
- Manages project control activities and costs daily.
- Acquires, develops, and manages craft field team on self-perform projects.
- Oversees, directs, and coordinates manpower, equipment, material, and subcontract activities.
- Participates in business development and preconstruction activities as directed.
- Prepares and maintains a detailed schedule for specific areas of responsibility.
- Reviews time sheets, quantity reporting, and daily costs for proper preparation and coding.
- Completes all daily reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Uses available reports to manage project scope and ensure successful project execution.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience in similar construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures.
- Understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
- Ability to control and supervise employees and subcontractors.
