Overview
Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is a nationwide tank construction company specializing in designing, engineering, repairing, and constructing above-ground metal storage tanks. They are seeking a full-time Fabrication Shop Laborer/Welder Helper to perform various manual duties involving physical labor in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Use non-power tools such as tape measures, squares, and hammers.
- Operate power or pneumatic tools including grinders and saws.
- Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks.
- Check incoming and outgoing material deliveries for accuracy.
- Move material around the shop or field site by hand or with equipment.
- Read cut sheets or drawings and operate saws for cutting materials.
- Grind, bevel, or fit metals together using hand or power tools.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety procedures.
- Erect and dismantle temporary scaffolding on job sites as needed.
- Perform basic safety checks and maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Inspect and rig equipment such as aerial work platforms on job sites.
- Use safety equipment including hardhats and gloves.
- Lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Process paperwork associated with job tasks.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Willing to authorize a background check.
- No criminal convictions for dishonesty or serious violence.
- Willing to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation required.
- Willing to submit to drug and alcohol testing.
- Good communication skills are necessary.
- Good attendance and punctuality are expected.
- Strong basic math and measuring skills are required.
- Attention to detail and quality is important.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.

Additional Information
- Work schedule is 4 x 10 hour days from 6am to 4pm.
- Ability to work overtime.
