Overview
The Certifiable Shop/Field Welder position involves working in a fast-paced environment, primarily in Albuquerque, NM and surrounding states, with a focus on structural steel fabrication and field welding. Candidates must be able to lift heavy loads and travel extensively for work.
Responsibilities
- Weld off scaffolding in the field.
- Work around heavy equipment.
- Travel up to 100% of the work week.
- Follow verbal procedures and adhere to safety policies.
- Read and decipher shop drawings.
- Complete welding duties at heights on scaffolding.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of structural steel fabrication experience.
- Welding certifications or ability to become certified.
- Willingness to work in the field.
- Respect for foreman’s authority.
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hour shifts.
- Keen eyesight and hand-eye coordination.
- Basic math and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stoop, stand, bend, and work in awkward positions.
- Access to online safety training within the first week.
- Required safety gear includes Hard Hat, Welding Hood, Safety Glasses, and Steel Toe Boots.
