Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Structural Back Welder will operate a sub-arc welder to ensure quality welding and repairs on pole shafts.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sub-arc welder and place welds on pole shafts.
• Gouge and grind areas to prepare for ultrasonic inspections.
• Repair defects as directed by Quality Inspectors.
• Work individually on a sub-arc welder with provided tools and equipment.
• Maintain accountability and perform equipment maintenance.
• Deliver products on time without manufacturing errors.
• Participate in department safety and adhere to safety policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass an AWS welder qualification test.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or one year from an accredited trade school.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals and alloys.
• Thorough knowledge of welding procedures and practices.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics and use standard measurements.
• Familiarity with Valmont's quality procedures and environmental policies.
