Overview
The Ride Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and annual rehabilitation of various amusement rides and attractions. This role requires climbing and working safely at heights, along with a range of mechanical skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other required inspections of amusement rides and related equipment.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and tests on amusement rides.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Follow repair procedures and maintain accurate documentation of all repairs.
- Communicate the status of assigned rides both verbally and in written format.
- Maintain all assigned equipment in a safe and ready condition.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Read and apply information from manufacturer's manuals and blueprints.
- Provide guest service according to Six Flags standards.
- Meet scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 to 6 years of verifiable experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or amusement setting.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data.
- Ability to speak and understand English at a sufficient level.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures.
