Overview

Mangan Engineering & Automation Specialist is seeking a full-time Structural Engineer to provide Structural Engineering services for industrial projects such as Oil & Gas, Factories, Power Plants, and Substations. The role requires detail-oriented, creative individuals with problem-solving skills to support engineering and design efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide Conceptual Design of Structural Supports
• Prepare Structural Calculations and Analysis
• Conduct Structural Loading Calculation per applicable Codes and Regulations (ASCE 7, IBC, etc.)
• Perform Static and Dynamic Analysis
• Design Steel Structures and Connections
• Design Foundations and Retaining Walls
• Conduct Concrete Design
• Design Overhead Transmission Lines (preferred)
• Design Substation Structures (preferred)
• Provide Structural Design Sketches for Designer/Drafter with AutoCAD
• Perform walkdowns and site visits of existing facilities
• Review existing conditions and as-built drawings, collecting and recording data
• Review customer and vendor information from subcontractors and integrate into design solutions
• Perform Structural Observation
• Execute schedule requirements while maintaining high quality in work product
• Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team
• Travel up to 25% of the time to customer and project locations
• Provide structural engineering support for overhead transmission line structures (preferred)
• Develop and check design criteria and load combinations for transmission structures (preferred)
• Coordinate with line design teams to interpret loading inputs/outputs (preferred)
• Review vendor drawings/submittals for compliance with project requirements (preferred)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/Structural engineering
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
• PE license is required (preferably CA), SE license is preferred
• Experience in Structural Steel and Concrete Design
• Experience in Dynamic Analysis (Response Spectrum, Time History, and Transient)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of RISA 3D, RAM Connection, MathCAD, Excel, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
• Experience with PLS-CADD/PLS-Pole/PLS-Tower is preferred
• Ability to break down technical concepts and communicate fundamentals
• Ability to manage priorities with minimal guidance
