Overview
Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm with offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, primarily serving the private sector. The Carpenter-Solar position involves the installation of solar panels and various carpentry tasks related to construction.
Responsibilities
- Install solar panels.
- Work with and install doors, hardware, trim, cabinetry, ceiling materials, and millwork.
- Build rough wooden structures such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters according to sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions.
- Examine specifications to determine dimensions of structures and measure boards, timbers, or plywood using various tools.
- Saw boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
- Brace forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts.
- Build framework to strengthen, protect, or disguise buildings undergoing construction.
- Erect scaffolding for buildings and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
- Install rough frames and brace them with boards nailed to framework.
- Install subflooring in buildings.
- Weld parts to steel structural members.
