Job Description

Overview

The Staff Structural Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for various facilities, including power, healthcare, and military projects. This role involves adapting structural plans throughout the design and construction process to meet budget and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design of projects from conceptual phase through completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various projects.
  • Design structural components based on project needs and requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of structural engineering concepts, principles, and codes.
  • Research and compile project-related data as needed.
  • Update drawings from senior engineers to verify corrections.
  • Compile information for client presentations and contract administration.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of structural engineering experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of the FE exam with 3 years of experience.
  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering and 2 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and structural analysis programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
