Overview
The Staff Structural Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for various facilities, including power, healthcare, and military projects. This role involves adapting structural plans throughout the design and construction process to meet budget and client needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural design of projects from conceptual phase through completion.
- Modify and review production drawings for various projects.
- Design structural components based on project needs and requirements.
- Apply knowledge of structural engineering concepts, principles, and codes.
- Research and compile project-related data as needed.
- Update drawings from senior engineers to verify corrections.
- Compile information for client presentations and contract administration.
- Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of structural engineering experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of the FE exam with 3 years of experience.
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering and 2 years of structural engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
- Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and structural analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
