Overview
You will serve as a MOLDER in the Production Division of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD, responsible for the construction of molds and cores from various materials, operating foundry equipment, and ensuring the layout and installation of gating systems for mold manufacture.
Responsibilities
- Construct molds from layout and assembly to pouring of the product.
- Fabricate intricate proto-type molds out of various sands, synthetics, and cement.
- Align the wooden pattern to the most usable application.
- Operate various foundry equipment such as cement mixer mill and centrifugal casting machines.
- Directly handle the layout and installation of the gating system used in mold manufacture.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
- Must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds.
- Must have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
