Overview
The Welder Helper position involves assisting in various welding tasks and ensuring adherence to safety standards in an industrial construction environment. The role requires a positive attitude, teamwork, and a commitment to safety while performing physical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in selecting appropriate equipment for the job or project.
- Assist in securing parts into position for welding.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for welding.
- Will assist in the setting up of equipment for the job.
- Adhere to all rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on site.
- Meet or exceed company safety standards.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Experience in an industrial construction environment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
- A positive attitude, self-motivated, eagerness to learn and a willingness to work hard every day.
- An ability to lead by a positive example and a commitment to working as a team.
- Attention and commitment to safety and an ability to follow instructions.
- Valid Driver's license and clean driving record if assigned to a company vehicle.
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Additional Information
- Must be able to accommodate customer needs by working flexible hours which may include weekends.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, vibrations and a wet and/or humid environment.
- Requires walking, sitting, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, grasping, crouching, stooping reaching and repetitive motions to a significant degree.
- Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
