Overview
The position is for a 3rd shift welder responsible for assisting in the safe production of high-quality skid steer weldments. The role requires advanced knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and involves various welding tasks and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety regulations and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Read and interpret work instructions to complete assembly of parts according to quality guidelines.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) processes.
- Pass welder certification test upon hiring.
- Troubleshoot issues with welding machines with minimal assistance.
- Understand basic weld defects and specifications to ensure weld quality.
- Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
- Position and secure work pieces into welding fixtures using hoists and cranes.
- Operate grinders and power tools using proper techniques.
- Inspect critical parts before production use.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area following World Class Manufacturing standards.
- Function as a team member to resolve production-related issues.
- Lift 50lbs consistently throughout the shift.
- Utilize basic computer skills for data entry and suggestions.
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience in the welding industry.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is desired.
- Certificate course in GMAW welding process from a reputable vocational institute is favored.
- Any AWS (American Welding Society) welding certifications are favorable.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is 7:30pm to 6am, Monday night through Thursday night with overtime as needed.
