Overview

The Industrial Textile Fabrication Machine Operator role involves preparing and operating machinery to create commercial fabric products such as tents and awnings. The position emphasizes precision and quality in manufacturing processes at Anchor Industries, a company with over 130 years of experience in fabric-based product manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of production machinery per work instructions, prints, and specifications.
  • Set up and run industrial sewing machines, radio frequency fabric welders, grommet machines, and related fabrication equipment.
  • Use tape measures, chalk lines, rulers, squares, scissors, marking pencils, and hand tools to measure, mark, and verify quality.
  • Inspect machines, complete routine maintenance, and fine-tune settings for optimal results.
  • Load and feed materials by hand or using automated systems; monitor output for consistency and quality.
  • Document production counts, defects, and errors accurately.
  • Move materials and finished goods using jack trucks, hand carts, or push carts.
  • Collaborate with teammates to hit safety, quality, and throughput targets.
  • Keep your area orderly and safe; follow all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 1 year in manufacturing or operating production machinery preferred.
  • Proven ability to learn new industrial equipment and product specs quickly.
  • Fast learner with strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
  • Comfort reading work orders, specifications, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Solid shop math skills including fractions, percentages, ratios, and measurements.
  • Analytical problem solver who follows schedules and instructions precisely.
  • Understands or can comply with OSHA and environmental requirements.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality; strong team orientation.
